Local Night Dives:

Experience the thrill of exploring the underwater world in a whole new light, quite literally, with our Night Scuba Diving Adventure at Whytecliff Park . This adventure is designed to introduce Advanced certified divers to the exciting and mysterious realm of night diving, where the ocean comes alive with unique and intriguing creatures that only reveal themselves in the darkness. Diving Sports Canada welcomes divers of all advanced levels to join us for an unforgettable adventure beneath the waves after the sun goes down..

Night diving offers a completely different perspective of the underwater world. You'll witness marine life and reef structures in a whole new light – or rather, no light. The sights, sounds, and sensations of the ocean take on a magical quality that will leave you in awe.

Sign up today and get the chance to observe a variety of unique nocturnal creatures, such as octopuses, crabs, and bioluminescent organisms. You'll be guided by experienced instructors who know where to find these elusive underwater residents.

We will be meeting at 6:30 pm at Whytecliff Park. Your designated dive guide will conduct a comprehensive briefing about the site and the upcoming dive. Buddy teams will be organized during this briefing. After everyone has prepared their gear and conducted necessary buddy checks, we'll make our way to the water's edge and enter from the beach. Once all divers have securely fitted their fins and completed weight checks, the dive will commence. The duration of the dive is typically around 45 minutes, though this may vary based on individual divers' air consumption and their ability to tolerate the cold.

Prerequisites:

  • Certified Advanced Open Water

  • Commitment to Safety and Enjoyment

At Diving Sports we believe in making sure all our divers (Scuba and Freedivers) receive the best possible experience while maintaining a high standard for safety, both for the divers, the guide, and the environment we are visiting. Our dive guides have many years of experience diving locally in cold water. All Dive guides are trained in first aid and oxygen delivery. First Aid kits and DAN Oxygen Kits are present on all trips and courses. Dive sites or dive plans may be changed due to weather conditions or experience level of the group, as well as anyone not adhering to proper dive practices will politely be asked to adapt to better interact with the underwater environment.
