Mixing Dive Teams :
We are happy to introduce mixed dive groups at Diving Sports! We will be allowing free divers and scuba divers on the same boat charters to enjoy our local waters and share different experiences.
Diving in a Drysuit :
If you wish to rent a drysuit for our fun dives you are required to have a drysuit specialty certification or have done some drysuit training directly through us. If you haven't tried it yet, have a look at our Drysuit Specialty Courses! We'll teach you everything you need to know.
Equipment Rental :
Diving Sports can provide all the necessary gear for rent during your dive trip except a mask and snorkel. Personal gear such as computer and dive light, although not always mandatory, are highly recommended and are available in the dive shop.
Transportation :
Transport can be provided from our shop to the dive site. We have our shop van (limited to a 6 passenger maximum capacity). Available passenger places in the shop van will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis. Start times will be 1 hour earlier for transportation for ocean dives.
Fun Dives:
It’s in the name, we are going fun diving! We organize guided fun dives for Scuba Divers and Free Divers of all experience levels so if you are unfamiliar with our local dive sites or don’t have a dive buddy to go diving with we have got you covered. We decide on the dive site based on diver experience and overall preference. One of the best parts about fun diving is being able to relax with a group of divers and tell stories and have a good time.
Boat Charters with New World Diving:
We will be meeting at 8:00am at dock in Horseshoe Bay. We will spend sometime to set up equipment and get organized on the boat before departing. Dives will be about 45min - 1hr at each dive site we choose. There is always an hour surface interval between dives so divers will want to bring lots of food and water to eat and drink, although usually hot soup is provided. We have lots of options for all experience levels of divers so there will always be something for everyone to enjoy. After the 2 dives we are usually back at the shop between 3pm and 4pm.
Commitment to Safety and Enjoyment
At Diving Sports we believe in making sure all our divers (Scuba and Freedivers) receive the best possible experience while maintaining a high standard for safety, both for the divers, the guide, and the environment we are visiting. Our dive guides have many years of experience diving locally in cold water. All Dive guides are trained in first aid and oxygen delivery. First Aid kits and DAN Oxygen Kits are present on all trips and courses. Dive sites or dive plans may be changed due to weather conditions or experience level of the group, as well as anyone not adhering to proper dive practices will politely be asked to adapt to better interact with the underwater environment.
