What We Offer :

Diving Sports Canada has some of the highest quality equipment and resources to help you begin your technical training. We provide continuous Nitrox Blending up to 40% oxygen, and high pressure (3000psi) oxygen fills thanks to our O2 gas booster.

What is Included in the Course :

Diving Sports includes the price of tuition, eLearning material, and certification fees. Students are responsible for their own personal equipment and gas fills for the course.

Equipment Requirements :

Students are required to be proficient diving with 2 Primary cylinders, either backmounted doubles or sidemount, before the start of the course. Students will be required to have appropriate cylinders for a decompression mix with an oxygen cleaned regulator. These may be rented out for the course.

Transportation :

Transport can be provided from our shop to the dive site. We have our shop van (limited to a 6 passenger maximum capacity). Available passenger places in the shop van will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis.

Who is this course for:

The Advanced Nitrox & Decompression Procedures Course (ANDP) is for divers who want to start to take diving seriously and begin their technical training. While they are two courses that can be taken on their own, they are best while combined with each other to make a very cohesive course. ANDP is the first step into longer deeper dives and exploring the underwater world and learning what it takes to be a technical diver.

What You Will Learn:

ANDP will develop your theoretical knowledge and practical skill set of diving far beyond what most recreational divers will have. We are going to cover a range of topics including equipment configuration, decompression theory, gas management, dive planning, and stress management. In-water we will be covering skills to prepare you for extended decompression stops, emergency management, gas loss, and team building. We focus on safety and control to make sure each student who comes out with a certification has the tools they need to progress to the next step in their diving.

Course Description:

We will spend 1-2 days in class. You have the option to do eLearning or purchase the manual only (this will affect the amount of class required) so you may choose the option that is best for you. After finishing the class portion of the course we will be spending 4 days in the ocean, with 8 dives minimum. This is where you will build on the knowledge you learned during the first half of the course and develop your physical skill set as you work with your instructors and gain confidence as you become a technical diver. This is one of the most exciting and important steps as a diver you can make. If more dives are required to meet the instructors standards we will plan more days in the ocean as needed.

Course Prerequisites:

  • Rescue Diver minimum
  • 75 logged dives, at least 25 dives in cold water in a drysuit.
  • Nitrox Certified
  • Deep Specialty Certified

  • Graduates Receive:

  • Certification to plan decompression dives to a maximum depth of 45m/150ft
  • Certification to dive with Nitrox mixes from 50% up to 100% Oxygen to use for accelerated decompression
  • Graduates may enroll in Extended Range and/or Trimix lvl 1

  • Commitment to Safety and Enjoyment

At Diving Sports we believe in making sure all our students receive the highest quality instruction and customer service. We are in the business of training, mentoring, and supporting students to become safe, skillful and confident divers. We begin by scheduling our courses with the number of classes it typically takes most students to master the knowledge and skills, then adapt and tailor our schedule to fit our individual student’s needs. Our instructors are open and honest about your progress during each part of the course. Students may need to schedule additional pool or ocean training dives prior to certification. This ensures our students complete their courses with all the skills and knowledge they need to be safe and enjoy their future dives and courses. When you take a course with Diving Sports, you are welcomed into a passionate and inclusive community of divers eager to support your diving journey well beyond the duration of your class.
