Ever wanted to test your SCUBA Skills with some friendly competition?
We are booking pool time to organize game nights for divers! We are going to have several evenings with different events planned for each one to get divers together and have some fun!

What's Included :

  • 1 hour pool time for games and skills practice
  • Transportation if needed (limited space)
  • Rental equipment

Transportation :

We have limited space in the company van so we are happy to give a ride to anyone who needs it, however it will be first-come-first-serve.

Each event night will have its own games, feel free to come to the ones you think will be the most fun, or all of them!

February 23rd 2024:

We are going to be starting off strong with the TUG/PUSH of war! The goal is to face your dive opponent and then, using a specified kicking style, push the other diver out of bounds! There will be 3 rounds to be played each with increasing difficulty of finning technique.

HOT POTATO - The second event of the night will be putting your buoyancy to work! All divers will arrange in a circle with various weights in the middle of them. One diver starts by picking up a weight and then passing it on to the next. The goal is simple: adjust your buoyancy every time you get a different weight and don’t lose control! Divers will be eliminated if any part of them touches the ground or if they float up too high until one remains! 2 rounds may be played if there is time, however the second round will be played with every diver picking a weight so they will always have something in their hands changing buoyancy.

March 1st 2024:

Relay Day! Both our events are going to be relay races to test your buoyancy and speed. Race #1 will be the Ping Pong Ball on a spoon race! Divers will have to remain neutrally buoyant while racing the entire length of the pool, while also keep a ping pong ball balanced under a spoon. First team to finish wins!

Race #2 will be a mask replacement relay. Teams will lineup at one end of the pool and race to the other side and back. Each diver must be using a decided upon finning technique AND before they can start their lap, they must exchange masks with one of their teammates!

March 15th 2024:

The first event of the evening is going to be the BAD BUDDY test! Divers will be timed to see how many mistakes they can find on a diver who has set up their gear incorrectly. There will be multiple rounds with increasing difficulty and number of mistakes to find. Do you know how to put your equipment together?

Event #2 is going to be the OBSTACLE COURSE race. We will have divemasters set up a course underwater with hoolahoops and various items to swim around and through. Divers will be timed and have to be aware of their surroundings in order to make it through without touching the obstacles!

How it Works :

  • Preregister, and arrange rental gear if required
  • 8:30pm - meet us at Lord Byng Aquatic Centre around the back of the building. We will be setting up our gear outside and taking it through the backdoors.
  • 8:45pm - take gear inside onto the pool deck, get changed into your swimsuit, wetsuit, and gear. Shoes off on the pool deck please!
  • 9:00pm - complete your buddy check, and head into the water. We will be coordinating dive buddies and teams for each event so make sure to listen to the instructions for the best chance to win!.
  • 9:55pm - exit the water. Our pool time is from 9:00pm - 10:00pm. We must be out of the water by 10:00pm, so please give yourself plenty of time to wrap up and be out of the water on time.
  • 10:15pm - pool is closed. All gear, tanks, and divers must be out of the building! If you require extra time to dismantle your gear or change, please exit the water early to give yourself enough time to be out of the building by 10:15pm at the absolute latest.
  • Please be mindful of the space. We are very grateful to be able to rent pool space, so we want to leave the facilities as we found them. This means taking shoes off before entering the pool deck area and avoiding things that may cause damage like hauling tanks out by hand or dropping heavy weights on the tiles.

Who are the Games for? :

  • Certified scuba divers looking for some indoor pool time to practice skills and have fun!
  • Divers must have been diving within the last 6 months

  • Commitment to Safety and Enjoyment

At Diving Sports we believe in making sure all our divers (Scuba and Freedivers) receive the best possible experience while maintaining a high standard for safety, both for the divers, the guide, and the environment we are visiting. Our dive guides have many years of experience diving locally in cold water. All Dive guides are trained in first aid and oxygen delivery. First Aid kits and DAN Oxygen Kits are present on all trips and courses. Dive sites or dive plans may be changed due to weather conditions or experience level of the group, as well as anyone not adhering to proper dive practices will politely be asked to adapt to better interact with the underwater environment.
