Guided Fun Dives
Why train with us?
Low student to instructor ratios : 3 or 4 students per instructor both in the pool and ocean
Our retail store is located downtown.
Diving courses available all year-round. Private courses available.
We teach children 10 years and older.
Passionate team of Instructors and Divemasters who love to teach.
Diving in a Drysuit :
If you wish to rent a drysuit for our fun dives you are required to have a drysuit specialty certification or have done some drysuit training directly through us. If you haven't tried it yet, have a look at our Drysuit Specialty Courses! We'll teach you everything you need to know.
Equipment Rental :
Diving Sports can provide all the necessary gear for rent during your dive trip except a mask and snorkel. Personal gear such as computer and dive light, although not always mandatory, are highly recommended and are available in the dive shop.
Transportation can be provided from our shop to the dive site. We have our shop van (limited to a 6 passenger maximum capacity). Available passenger places in the shop van will be provided on a first-come-first-serve basis. Start times will be 1 hour earlier for transportation for ocean dives.
Staying Up to Date :
We are always adding trips and updating our calendar. Have a look every so often or subscribe to the calendar to be the first to see new upcoming trips!
BUDDY SPECIAL :
Having a buddy is not required as divers will always be ‘buddied’ up if alone but there
are discounts available for more than one student signing up. The discount is
applied by ‘adding a buddy’ at the bottom of the sign up process.
Local Fun Dives:
It’s in the name, we are going fun diving! We organize guided fun dives for divers of all experience levels so if you are unfamiliar with our local dive sites or don’t have a dive buddy to go diving with we have got you covered. We decide on the dive site based on diver experience and overall preference. One of the best parts about fun diving is being able to relax with a group of divers and tell stories and have a good time.
We will be meeting at 9am at the dive site. We will set up all of our gear, do a site briefing and assign buddy teams then it’s time to go diving. Dives will be about 45min - 1hr. There is always an hour surface interval between dives so divers will want to bring lots of food and water to eat and drink in between and after the dives. Our dive guides will have hot drinks and snacks available as well. We plan both shore dives and boat dives right here in Howe Sound so we have dives available for everyone, no matter if you prefer shallow walls or deep wrecks. After the 2 dives we are usually back at the shop between 3pm and 4pm.
Commitment to Safety and Enjoyment
At Diving Sports we believe in making sure all our divers (Scuba and Freedivers) receive the best possible experience while maintaining a high standard for safety, both for the divers, the guide, and the environment we are visiting. Our dive guides have many years of experience diving locally in cold water. All Dive guides are trained in first aid and oxygen delivery. First Aid kits and DAN Oxygen Kits are present on all trips and courses. Dive sites or dive plans may be changed due to weather conditions or experience level of the group, as well as anyone not adhering to proper dive practices will politely be asked to adapt to better interact with the underwater environment.
