Barkley Sound All-Inclusive Weekend Trip | 4 Days of World-Class Cold Water Diving
Join Dive Sports Canada for an unforgettable 4-day all-inclusive scuba diving adventure in Barkley Sound. Located between Ucluelet and Bamfield on Vancouver Island’s wild west coast, Barkley Sound is home to some of the richest cold-water biodiversity on the planet. Stay at the famous Rendezvous Dive Adventures Lodge in Rainy Bay and enjoy exceptional diving, home-cooked meals, kayaks, hot tub access, and a relaxing remote wilderness setting.
Marine Life Highlights:
Expect encounters with giant Pacific octopus, wolf eels, ratfish, sixgill sharks, kelp forests, diverse nudibranchs, and vibrant invertebrate life. Above water, sightings of humpback whales, grey whales, sea lions, bears, and bald eagles are common.

What’s Included:
- Round-trip transportation from Diving Sports Canada (or refund if self-driving)
- All meals (except Friday dinner) — dietary needs accommodated
- Accommodation at Rendezvous Dive Adventures Lodge
- 2–3 guided boat dives per day
- Free kayaks, hot tub, camera room, and lodge amenities
- Tanks, weights, ferry fees, fuel charges
What’s Not Included:
- Friday food (BBQ available for use)
- Nitrox fills (available at extra cost)
- Rental gear — Reserve rental equipment here
Diving in a Drysuit?
You must have a Drysuit Specialty certification if diving in a drysuit. Need the course? Take the PADI Drysuit Specialty before the trip.
Requirements to Join:
- Advanced Open Water certification (or equivalent)
- Minimum 20 cold-water dives
- At least one cold-water dive within the last 6 months
- Good buoyancy and comfort in ocean conditions
- Minimum age 12 (minors require guardian consent)
Trip Flow & Meeting Time:
- Friday – 7:00 AM: Meet at Diving Sports Canada (4578 Main St, Vancouver), load van, and depart for Horseshoe Bay
- 9:40 AM: Ferry to Nanaimo
- 11:45 AM: Drive to Port Alberni to meet Rendevous Dive Adventures
- 4:00 PM: Arrive at Rainy Bay lodge
- Evening: Optional dock dive (check weights & gear)
- Saturday & Sunday: 2–3 guided boat dives + meals, hot tub, kayaking
- Monday: Two morning dives, pack up, return boat to Port Alberni
- 5:45 PM: Ferry back to Vancouver
- 8:30 PM: Arrival at the shop

All divers must follow our strict “look, don’t touch” policy to protect the fragile marine ecosystem. Our guides ensure all interactions with wildlife are respectful and low-impact.

- Basic Scuba Kit: Regulator, BCD, exposure suit, gloves, boots, hood, fins, mask
- Dive Computer (required for each diver)
- Dive Light (recommended)
- DSMB (required for each diver)
- Dive Camera (pics or it didn't happen!)
